BIOGRAPHY
  • I work full-time as an artist from my studio in Saint Helena Bay and am married with 2 lovely adult daughters.
  • I acknowledged my artistic creativity as a tiny tot – I came with it – and my artistic career began after graduating, in 1980. My home is centred around the living and breathing passion for art and family.
  • Portraits and figurative artworks including nudes are my speciality.
  • Oils, watercolour, drawing, and photography are my favoured media.
  • Have held 7 solo shows as well as participated in numerous group exhibitions.
  • My art has been represented in several collections, exhibitions, and publications over the years.
  • I achieved significant artistic recognition, notably as finalist or award winner in several other prestigious art competitions, a residency in Paris, and am an honours graduate with distinctions from Michaelis, UCT.
  • Highlighted merits include being juried as a finalist in the top 5% in the SPI SA National Portrait Award in 2013; and a finalist in the TB Finlayson Art Award, 2014 Hermanus FynArts.
  • Love people and animals and accept commissions. Work from life …. this is a passion.
FINE ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY
  • Multi-award-winning, full-time, experienced artist.
  • Genre: Contemporary classical realism.
  • Specialist: Figurative, portraiture.
  • Mediums: oils, watercolour, drawing, photography.

As an accomplished award-winning artist, Sue Tatham uses a most thoughtful and artistic approach to all her photography regardless of the subject. She is particularly adept with newborn babies, but equally so with weddings and parties. She is always open to suggestions but also insists on maintaining a really professional outcome. Has done some lovely work with my family and friends.” ~ Janet Burtt
